Background:
Gender Equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for the creation of sustainable and peaceful societies. UNESCO’s published report on Gender Equality: Heritage and Creativity vividly demonstrates the need for deeper debate, research and awareness-raising on the need for equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities for women and men, boys and girls in the fields of heritage and creativity.
Introduction:
Smart Lady & Smart Life - Gender Equality & Culture Exchange International Youth Action·2017 is sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Women’s Federation and Beijing Women’s International Center, organized by Beijing International Chinese College. Since 2014, three annual projects have been held with more than 200 international volunteers and thousands of teenagers from over 20 countries participating. Special activities were carried out, with the theme of gender equality and sustainable development, to develop women’s rights, inherit and protect traditional and natural heritage, promote exchanges with foreign countries and let the world know more about Beijing. Besides, their experience and ideas in those activities were spread to the whole world through their own way. The camp is in Yanqing District, Beijing, which is the main region of 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Application Requirements:
1、Identify with the concept of gender equality and protection of traditional and natural heritage;
2、Nationality: Foreign Nationality;
3、Age: college students aged 18 to 26;
4、Language: Fluent English;
5、Able to be fully engaged in the whole project from July 12th to July 20th .
6、Deadline:June 9th
We will enroll the first 15 applicants according to the application time.
Fees:
Prices are fully inclusive in Beijing. They are:
Transfers to and from Beijing Capital International Airport;
Personal travel insurance during the program;
Breakfast, lunch, dinner;
Accommodation;
Visits specified in the program.
Please note that free airport transfer is provided on condition that participants arrive and depart on time. Pick up date: Jul. 11th. Drop off date: Jul. 20th.
Prices do not include:
Round-trip international air tickets, visa, and after-school activities, and all expenses of personal nature (i.e long-distance telephone calls, drinks from mini bar, after-meal food, souvenirs, etc.).
