2023 “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camps

General Introduction
The “ChineseBridge” Summer Camps for International Students are sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation(CLEC), a non-profit professional educational institution affiliated with Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), and organized by Beijing International Chinese College (BICC), a non-government professional higher educational institution devoted to international promotion of Chinese language and culture.
The program aims to promote the understanding of Chinese language and culture for high school and college students from all over the world,develop their passion for learning Chinese language and culture, and enhance friendly exchanges between Chinese youth and their international peers.
The two-week summer camps offer Chinese language lessons, cultural experience activities, themed lectures, and a variety of exchange programs for the participants including visits to Chinese families.
Join us and you will not only visit China, improve your Chinese language level, get to know about Chinese culture, but also make friends with students around the world.
BICC will organize three summer camps in 2023 on different themes at different times.
The 2023 “Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp for International Students on “Chinese + International E-Commerce” “中文+国际电子商务”主题夏令营(June 25t h- July 8t 2023)
This program includes Chinese lessons, culture experience activities, and lectures and visits on the theme of international e-commerce. It aims to help you gain insight into China’s development of e-commerce and enrich your experience of digital life inBeijing.

“璀璨丝路魅力中国”主题夏令营
This program focuses on Chinese history and culture. It aims to improve your Chinese proficiency, deepen your understanding of Chinese history and culture especially about the ancient Silk Road, and help you understand what is China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative.

Conditions for Application
1.Non-Chinese student, Non-native Chinese Speaker
2.Aged 16 to 30
3.Have not participated in “Chinese Bridge” summer camps in China since 2017
4. Preferrablly Chinese proficiency level at or above HSK2/YCT3
5.Good command of English for communication and understanding programs
6.Good health with no specific diseases
COST
BICC will provide free airport pick-up and drop-off (on condition that students arrive and depart on set time and dates), courses, meals, accommodation and cost of visiting in Beijing.
Participants will pay for round-trip international airtickets, visa, insurance, and out-of-program activities.
Application
Please find the attached application form, choose one of the three summer camps to register, and email the completed form to us at biccsummercamp@163.com by May 31st, 2023. Our class size is limited, so please contact us as early as possible.
About BICC
Founded in 2005, Beijing International Chinese College (BICC) is a professional non-government higher educational institution devoted to international promotion of Chinese language and culture. It is a Training Base for Chinese Teaching for the Belt & Road Countries accredited by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), a Chinese Language & Education Base accredited by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government, a resource organization of Society in the Classroom for Primary and Middle School students in Beijing. BICC has qualifications for accepting international students, employing foreign experts, hosting training programs for overseas native Chinese language teachers, carrying out human resources training programs as part of China’s foreign-aid projects, as well as undertaking HSK exams. BICC has set up two overseas Confucius classrooms in Nepal and Belarus respectively, and have dispatched Chinese language teachers to countries including the USA, Zimbabwe, Costa Rica, Cambodia, and Uruguay.

Since 2020, BICC has developed a series of courses which are suitable for online teaching, including E-tour on Beijing, Forbidden City, Winter Olympic, Hutongs, and the Interactive Learning Center of Chinese Characters (ILCCC) etc. This series of courses are recorded on the spot, our teachers take you around like a tour guide and conduct corresponding culture and knowledge teaching, so as to create an immersive learning environment for learners and enhance the interest of learning.
